Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Implement a Women and Youths Economic Empowerment Project UN Women in partnership with the Ministry of Youths and Sports, and with funding from the African Development Bank is implementing a project called, “Private Sector Development in Fragile Context: Capacity Building and Access to Finance for Youths and Women (PSDFC) Project”. The project targets two locations, in South Sudan, namely, Western bahr-el-ghazal, and Western Equatoria over a period of 36 Months. The overall goal of the PSDFC project is to increase employment opportunities, market access and incomes for marginalised women and youths in South Sudan. The specific objectives of the PSDFC project are: (i) Support growth of SMEs and linking them to MFIs & Markets (ii) Strengthened institutional capacities of the government and private sector institutions to promote growth of SMEs and the economic empowerment of women and youths. The project directly targets 1,500 beneficiaries (450 women and 1,050 youth between the age of 18-35 years, 50% of which are women). The beneficiaries will be supported to establish 55 market/value chain-oriented Village Savings and Loans Associations that will enable women and youths to have access to capital, sustainable revolving start-up grants and business and financial management skills. UN Women therefore invites expression of interests from Local partners, to support with the implementation of the project in the two above stated locations. Preference will be given to NGOs which are based in or have operating offices in the above-mentioned locations.
