Description:
The project-s development objective is to strengthen the capacity of South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) to increase non-oil revenue mobilization and accountability. In this regard, the key interventions of the project will be to: (i) build SSRA IT systems to further enhance tax administration including tax collection and to promote voluntary taxpayer compliance; (ii) enhance tax audits/investigations including tax-payer perception reviews; (iii) implement existing tax policies while exploring opportunities for new areas to widen the tax net such as value added tax (VAT), hotel taxes, and property taxes and (iv) consolidate NORMA-I staff training. Project interventions will be delivered through the provision of IT equipment, technical assistance and capacity building of project-s direct beneficiaries through formal and on-the-job trainings supported by embedded advisors and targeted trainings undertaken locally and regionally.
